What to upload

Accepted documents.A short guide to what we parse.

Every document you upload is processed in memory and never written to disk. Files stay yours; only the extracted emissions data is returned.

Direct emissions

Scope 1 — What you burn or leak yourself

Scope 1 covers emissions from sources your business directly owns or controls. If you burn it on-site, in a company vehicle, or in equipment you maintain — or if a gas leaks from kit you're responsible for — it's Scope 1.

  • Fuel receipts (petrol, diesel, LPG, heating oil, kerosene)
  • Fleet fuel-card statements (Allstar, BP+, Shell, Fuel Genie, etc.)
  • Gas bills for on-site heating, hot water, or processes
  • HVAC / refrigerant service reports and F-gas records — including work done at client sites
  • Boiler or generator maintenance logs that list fuel used
Purchased energy

Scope 2 — The electricity you buy

Scope 2 covers emissions from electricity your business uses. You don't burn anything yourself — the emissions happen at the power station — but your consumption is what caused them. If it comes off the grid and lands on your bill, it's Scope 2.

  • Electricity bills from any UK supplier
Value-chain emissions

Scope 3 Light — Value-chain emissions

Scope 3 Light covers value-chain emissions — the ones that happen upstream or downstream of your own operations, and is included as standard on every plan. We accept commercial waste with tonnage, plus our own downloadable templates for business travel, employee commuting, inbound freight, outbound freight, and landlord / third-party electricity.

  • Commercial waste invoices, skip hire receipts, or waste transfer notes that state tonnage (e.g. from Biffa, Veolia, Suez, or a local skip hire firm)
  • Our downloadable Green Citation templates — see the templates section below
Fallback templates

If your document won't parse, use one of ours.

These are simple Excel templates for the most common document types. Transcribe your figures into the template, save as PDF, and upload it here — the extractor recognises the template header and applies the same DESNZ factors it would to a real supplier document. Zero-retention still applies: the file is processed in memory and never written to disk. Accepted date formats: yyyy-mm-dd, dd/mm/yyyy, or dd-mm-yyyy (UK-form is interpreted day-first).
